About This Site

This site is a personal site presenting my own views. The thoughts here do not represent the views of any organization to which I am affiliated, even though I may end up sharing my perspectives on such things from time to time.

The blog is meant to capture my random thoughts on a range of topics, including technology, my daily observations, and things in my life that I want to share with the world. In addition to my thoughts, I will also share my photos, some of which are randomly displayed in the header image.

About Daniel Jacobson – Professional

Currently, I am focused on building a portfolio of board seats, advisory roles, and consultancy gigs.  If you are interested in discussing such opportunities with me, please reach out to me on LinkedIn.

Previously, I ran large engineering organizations at several major media companies: Netflix, The New York Times, and NPR.  As an engineering leader, I focused on establishing a robust long-term vision, hiring and growing a strong team of leaders and ICs with the right skills to pursue that vision, liberally sharing context to my teams, nurturing a strong culture of inclusivity, learning, experimentation, and innovation, and then getting out of people’s way to let them do their best work.

In addition to writing a range of articles, presenting at many conferences, and building the public presence of my companies and teams, I also published a book through O’Reilly called “APIs: A Strategy Guide”.

Might there be a possibility you (or someone from NPR) could speak with us at EPA regarding your homegrown CMS? We’re presently scoping out our next CMS (we’ve had many issues with our current).

    Thank you!
